XXXIV: The things that I do

I make my breakfast.
I eat my breakfast.
I wash the dishes.
These are the things that I do –

And I do them with You.

I put my shoes on.
I go out.
I come back.
I take my shoes off.
These are the things that I do –

And I do them with You.

I sit down.
I close my eyes.
I ponder.
I yawn.
These are the things that I do –

And I do them with You.

  1. Beautiful simplicity. This poem is like a bombshell...the text is so simple; the meaning profound. It's been quite awhile since any new poem from anyone (including me) has spoken to me so powerfully.

  2. That's lovely. It puts me in mind of someone who's lost someone, so they are always in the thoughts, always there with them...
